Judge Peter Emmett Wiese (Ret.)

While serving over 29 years on the bench as a trial judge, Judge Peter Emmett Wiese had substantial experience in judicial mediations and presided over countless jury and bench trials. At the time of his retirement, he had served as a trial Judge longer than any other sitting Judge at the time.
Prior to becoming a Judge, he served the State of Connecticut as an Assistant Attorney General from 1981 to 1993. During that time, he had substantial experience litigating and negotiating resolutions of complex, high-profile, and sensitive matters in both State and Federal Courts. Within Contract Litigation Unit, he handled all phases of construction contract disputes and litigation.
His law career acquired in over four decades of private practice and on the bench makes him exceptionally well-qualified to assist parties and their counsel in resolving disputes through arbitration or mediation.
